Terms of sale

Last updated 22 August 2026

These are the standard terms this site is built around. They are a starting point, not a signed contract — the terms that govern any particular order are those on the accepted quotation and the order acknowledgement. Where the two differ, the quotation wins.

Quotations

A quotation is firm for the validity period shown on it, typically 30 days. After that it lapses rather than automatically renewing — alloy cost and freight move, and a stale price helps nobody. Ask for a refresh and it usually comes back the same day.

Quotations are prepared against the duty you describe. If the medium, temperatures, flow or mounting turn out to be different from what was stated, the quotation does not carry over to the revised requirement.

Drawing approval and dimensions

Catalog dimensions are nominal. On any order the controlling dimensions are those on the drawing approved before production. Where a drawing is issued for approval, production time starts from your approval, not from the order date.

Standard manufacturing tolerances apply to formed length, bend position and overall geometry. Where a dimension is critical, mark it as such on the drawing so it is inspected against rather than assumed.

Prices, currency and Incoterms

Prices are quoted in USD, CAD, CNY against the Incoterm stated on the quotation. Available terms are EXW Taizhou, FOB Shanghai, FOB Ningbo, CIF, DDP (on request). Unless stated otherwise, prices exclude duties, taxes and customs clearance in the destination country.

Tariff classification and duty are the importer’s responsibility. The usual classification for electric heating resistors is 8516.80 — electric heating resistors, but confirm it with your customs broker against the specific article. Goods are marked with country of origin in line with 19 CFR 134 for US entries.

Payment

Standard terms are T/T 30% deposit / 70% before shipment; L/C at sight; Net 30 on approved account. There is no card payment on this site: orders settle against a proforma or commercial invoice. Banking details are issued on the invoice and never published on a web page — if you receive banking details by email that do not match the invoice, telephone us on +86 523 8376 6730 before paying.

Lead time and delivery

Lead times shown on the site and on quotations are working days from order confirmation, or from drawing approval where a drawing is issued. They assume the deposit has cleared. We will tell you before a date slips rather than after.

Warranty

Elements are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from delivery. Where an element is defective we will repair or replace it, or credit its value, at our option. That is the limit of our liability: we do not accept liability for downtime, lost production, or consequential loss, because the value of those is set entirely by your process and not by the part.

What voids it

The warranty does not cover an element that failed for a reason within the installation’s control. In practice that means:

  • Dry firing — the heated zone exposed above the liquid level, whether from a level drop, evaporation, drag-out or a missing low-level interlock.
  • Operation above the watt density stated for the medium, or in a medium other than the one the element was specified for.
  • Scale or carbon build-up left on the sheath. Both insulate, and an element cooked under its own deposit is a maintenance failure rather than a manufacturing one.
  • Supply voltage above 1.1 times the rated value, or an ineffectively earthed sheath.
  • Damage at the terminal end from moisture ingress, corrosive vapor, over-torqued terminal hardware, or a lead exit built inside the insulation layer.
  • Mechanical damage, re-forming or modification after delivery.

An element with low insulation resistance straight out of storage is usually damp rather than defective — magnesium oxide is hygroscopic. Dry it at around 200 °C until resistance recovers before returning it. The failure-modes guide covers this and the other cases in detail.

Compliance and approvals

We do not represent that our products carry any approval that is not stated in writing on the quotation. Several North American approvals are open items rather than held certificates; the current status of each is published on the compliance page. If your project requires an approval we do not hold, tell us at enquiry stage.

Returns

Made-to-order and made-to-drawing items are not returnable, because they have no second buyer. Catalog items in unused, original condition may be returned within 30 days by prior arrangement, subject to a restocking charge and return freight at your cost.
